ProWrestling.NET reports that WWE creative had discussions regarding an Edge babyface turn before he suffered an Achilles injury over the weekend.
Multiple sources report that WWE had mapped out a long-term plan for Edge being a face. While the turn might not have been on a verge of happening right away, it was actively being discussed as a plan for the future. One source says the plan called for Edge’s turn to start around the Royal Rumble, so that he would enter WrestleMania 26 as a full-fledged babyface for the first time in years.
With Edge’s injury putting him out of action until around the time of the Royal Rumble, it will be interesting to see how WWE handles his return.
