– While it isn’t the most reliable source, the long-running Slammer column in the New York Daily News has some quotes from Buff Bagwell in today’s issue. On joining TNA: “I don’t know who started them, but (the rumors) are totally false. I have not been contacted by TNA. If they did call, I’d answer (even if it was collect) and listen.” On returning to WWE: “I’d love to join them so much I’d work for free!”

– The Hulk Hogan’s Celebrity Championship Wrestling show produced by Eric Bischoff’s company will not be picked up for a second season by CMT. They were happy with the results of the first season, but there was a budgeting dispute between CMT and the producers which lead to the network deciding against picking it up again. Bischoff’s production company owns the show and may shop it to another channel for season two, but right now it seems like the celebrity wrestling series is pretty much done. They were originally planning on shooting the second season this month (May) but Hulk’s back surgery prevented it.

The general feeling about the CCW project is that if the show aired on VH1 among shows like Rock Of Love and Charm School it would have been much more successful.

In a related note, there is talk of Eric Bischoff and partner Jason Hervery getting involved in the all-female Wrestlicious promotion which Jimmy Hart is involved in.

– On this date in 2000, Kevin Nash announced on Nitro that he was going to give his World Heavyweight Title to Ric Flair, saying that Flair never should have been stripped of the title by Vince Russo for no reason in the first place. Flair accepted the title, then lost it to Jeff Jarrett later that same night. This is Ric Flair’s shortest title reign ever, lasting less than two hours.
